Bearing and Bearing Failure Course - Call us on +44 (0) 1443 223544 or Contact Us - 3 Days

Please note: These courses are NOT public courses but are designed for delivery within organisations(worldwide).

Introduction

There are two main categories of equipment in any plant or factory; that is static equipment and rotating equipment. The trouble free and long life of rotating equipment is to a great extent dependant upon the specification, lubrication and maintenance of the bearings installed in the rotating equipment. This course adopts a back to basics approach by dealing with design considerations such as types of loading, speed, environmental conditions, vibration and methods and types of lubrication and the effects of these on bearing life.

The course is conducted as three modules. The first module deals with the theory of rotating element bearings and plain bearings including the metallurgy and design and construction as well as calculations to predict bearing life and loading for given operating conditions. The second module deals with bearing failure and modes of failure and how to trace the root cause of the failure as well as a strategy for preventing reoccurrence. The final optional module is a practical one in which the delegates will have the opportunity to use workshop equipment to fit and remove bearings and seals properly.
