Introduction

This course will cover the practical applications of distributed control system as used in a number of industries with the emphasis being on the oil and gas industry.

The two architectures are introduced early in the program. Also included is the HART system of communication. The Foundation Fieldbus is studied in depth and includes a unit of Computer Based Learning (CBT) materials.

The final two days of the course will be practically based within the Client Company and will use the Integrated Graphics SCADA/DCS System (IGSS). This will be used to develop a control strategy and a mimic diagram which will be operational.
