Peter is an experienced technical author who has worked many years on assignments with Qatargas and ADGAS. This has given him a detailed knowledge of liquefied gas, from the inlet receiving, through to all units of the LNG trains, the associated utilities, storage, loading and processing of related products such as condensates and sulphur.
Peter started his career as a Merchant Navy engineering cadet with Blue Star Line in Liverpool. On successful completion of his cadetship he served as a watch-keeping marine engineering officer on steam turbine and diesel driven deep sea vessels of up to 30,000 shaft horse power.
After re-training in technical authorship and communications with Eston Limited and gaining the relevant City & Guilds qualifications, he completed assignments with Hydrovane Compressors, Rolls Royce Energy (formerly Cooper Rolls), British Energy, Société Générale D'Entreprise, Shell Expro, Qatargas and ADGAS.
During his placement with Qatargas (via Foster Wheeler) he worked on initial start-up procedures, operating manuals and standing instructions for all parts of the plant. He also completed technical reports, shutdown reports, assistance to the engineering team and presentations for the company’s participation at LNG industry conferences.
At ADGAS he produced operator training modules for the storage and loading areas of the LNG plant. He also designed the format of the competency assurance system job profiles used on the company’s online training portal. He worked with subject experts to provide intranet uploaded job profiles for the maintenance developees, with online training links to supplementary documentation such as videos, training modules and external websites.
