These courses are designed for delivery to organisations (worldwide). |
Introduction
The control of dangerous process equipment is essential. What we need to know is “what is the process doing?” When can I use DCS and when can I use SCADA. In the main, what is the difference between SCADA and DCS?
We also cover the troubleshooting of a SCADA system and use of the protocol analyser when sections of the system cease to communicate. What is a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and what is a Master Terminal Unit (MTU). What is a protocol and what happens if we try to connect a non-standard protocol to our system?

and many more
Who is the course for?
It is aimed at the instrument technician and the automation technician in the early years of their career. Whilst being suitable for both types of employee it is especially suitable as a bridging course for those technicians wishing to qualify as automation technicians. The electrical technician will also find this course suitable. Mechanical, supervisory and management staff will also find this very useful as they have a “need to know” in carrying out their duties.
