The course is intensive and City and Guilds stipulate a minimum of 40 hours in which the assignments and the practical delivery of teaching during micro-teaching sessions is covered. We believe that it is important that adequate time is given for the essential skills and underpinning knowledge to be developed and the necessary evidence gathered to prove you have reached the required standard and give you the confidence needed when teaching.

The main purpose of this course is to explain the methodology of Total Productive Maintenance, which was pioneered in Japan. Companies that have successfully fully implemented TPM aim for zero breakdowns and zero defects. It is not uncommon for these Companies to reduce breakdowns to 1/100th of their pre-TPM levels.
