Introduction

This is a five-day professional seminar designed to provide familiarity with a broad range of supervision techniques and to enhance supervisory skills. It was designed primarily to address the needs of new supervisors, but the seminar will prove useful for experienced managers and supervisors as well.

We shall look closely at the role of the supervisor, the planning function, delegation skills, situational leadership, motivation skills, problem solving and decision making techniques, the management of performance, and the interpersonal communication skills needed by all successful supervisors. In addition the seminar will pay attention to the development of team building skills.
